- 1-night stay at Torciano Boutique Hotel: the hotel is located in the countryside of the medieval town of San Gimignano. The historic center is just a 5-minute drive away.
- Educational harvest experience (vendemmia didattica) & Stomping: every year from August 10th to November 10th, Tenuta Torciano comes alive with the excitement of the harvest. You’ll take part in a special hands-on experience, including a visit to the cellar and vineyards.
- Lunch in the Vineyard with wine & oil tasting: during lunch, you’ll enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine. The meal is paired with a tasting class and wine school, featuring our own Tuscan wines and oils.
Your Destination
San Gimignano is a small medieval village dating back to the 8th century. It is perhaps the most famous of Tuscany’s small towns, best known for its 14 towers overlooking picturesque olive groves and vineyards. Travelers who want to imagine what Tuscany was like in the Middle Ages must absolutely visit San Gimignano.
If you choose accommodation based in or around San Gimignano, you’ll be able to travel in many different directions and discover the artistic, natural, and historical treasures of Tuscany that will enrich your itinerary.
Some of these places are easily accessible by public transport and are just a short distance away. Siena is about 20 minutes away by car and Florence about 35, so Tuscany’s most renowned cities are both within easy reach of your stay.
Grape Harvest and Stomping Experience
The grape harvest is one of the most fascinating experiences you can enjoy in Tuscany during the autumn season. Ours is a true “vendemmia didattica”, an educational harvest explained step by step, which makes it just as good for families with children as it is for wine lovers. It’s a wonderful way to learn about local food and wine traditions, as well as the region’s culture. Those who have tried it say that the atmosphere in a working winery is truly unique!

Harvest: You’ll meet our local guide and begin with an introduction to the world of vineyards. The guide will share insights about vine cultivation, seasonal weather conditions, and how they affect the grapes. Then, you’ll take scissors and crates and start picking grapes with the guide’s assistance.
Afterwards, whenever the day allows it, you’ll try the traditional grape stomping with your feet — a unique and unforgettable experience. -
